The challenge

The NHS wanted to reach young people where they already were, on mobile, with an app that was engaging, youth-focused and fun rather than preachy.

“The main strengths of Intelligent Mobile are that they are innovative, creative and easy to work with. I would recommend Intelligent Mobile, they are a great company to work with.”
Melanie Owens, Health Improvement Senior, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

What we did

We ran a co-design workshop with a focus group aged 12–25, who shaped the requirements, the design and even the logo.

The iOS and Android app includes a discussion forum, the health benefits of quitting, quit tips, a user profile and a money-savings tool.

“We didn't want the app to be negative, we wanted to give young people a positive app with lots of useful information to help them quit positively.”
